ContainR Project & NMB
In the heart of Calgary’s Kensington neighbourhood, sits an unusual site - a collection of unused shipping containers that have been redesigned and repurposed to make up a unique village of pop-up venues.
Known as the ContainR Project and located at 1020 2nd Ave NW, the containers make up 100
miles of arts and culture events and performances. The containRs support creative minds, artists, thinkers, growers, and entrepreneurs. Northern Mat & Bridge sees ourselves as all of these in our trade and is proud to support others who feel the same way about theirs. We recently sponsored this exciting venture and encourage you to check it out the next time you are in Calgary.
Tamara Lee put up the “CommuniTree” at the containR site with a sign asking people to add decorations at Christmas time. People were asked to bring something to add to their tree and pretty soon it was full of homemade decorations and things brought from people’s homes. It was a hit!
