- Mats and Bridges are all used to provide access to areas otherwise non accessible. As with anything there are correct and incorrect methods to do a job. At NMB we strive to provide a service to all our customers that gets the job done with minimal environmental impact
- Not only is there large penalties for companies whom operate in violation with government policy and regulation, but the environment is important to everyone
- NMB operates under a strict Health, Safety and Environment program that outlines our practices and efforts to ensure environmentally friendly work
- We work hand and hand with various government agencies and understand the environmental regulations as well as the permits and precautions that are involved with installing bridges and laying mats
- Our Bridges are built with the environment in mind. Each Oilfield portable bridge is equipped with a solid deck and slash guards which prevent deleterious substrate from entering into the stream below. The All-Steel low profile bridge, is just that, low profile. It too has a solid deck to eliminate debris falling through and into the creek. The low profile style reduces the amount of earth that is needed to install the bridge; thus, minimizing the footprint on the enivironment
- NMB 8'x14' access rd mat is used in many applications and for many different reasons. Unstable ground and sensitive areas are the two main reasons for the use of matting. Unstable ground includes areas which are soft and muddy and impassable unless frozen or covered in matting. Roads and leases are built from matting to provide access into otherwise impassable areas.
- Environmentally sensitive areas include streamsides, wildlife corridors, sites with endangered flora or fauna and sites with sensitive soil types. Natural drainage patterns can be maintained with the use of matting.
- This access road was 2.5 km long and was installed to minimize ground disturbance on sensitive soil types
- Matting is becoming a more prevalent practice in the Oil and Gas industry not only because it extends the working season, but more importantly because it protects the environment.
